Patterson Park Birds
A List for Patterson Park in Baltimore, Maryland
This list covers birds seen in Patterson Park by area residents
over the period 1993-2003. The species order follows that of the 7th
edition of the AOU
Checklist (1998). This list is designed to provide the birder
with an idea of what may be expected in any given season. Seasonal
abundance is shown in the following table for the species that
regularly occur here. This list has been prepared by using the
Baltimore Bird Club list
for Baltimore City and County as a starting point.
Note that two years ago, the Boat Lake in Patterson Park was
rebuilt. Once it was choked with cattails. Now is has little
vegitation, and the bird populations have changed accordingly. The
abundances describe the maximum of the period before and after the
reconstruction of the lake.
