Saturday May 2-Kinetic Sculpture Race.
All over the city and a multiple locations within the park. 1-3pm.

It’s one of the most entertaining annual city-wide events and we’re lucky enough to have it snake through our very own park. Check out the sand pit, mud pit, and Pagoda obstacle. It’s all produced by the American Visionary Art Museum so. for more information visit www.kineticbaltimore.com

Saturday May 9- Butchers Hill Flea Market.
Near the Pagoda 9am-3pm.

The semi-annual Flea Market is a great place to find all those treasures you didn’t even know you needed. For more information visit www.butchershill.org

Saturday May 16-Movie in the Park.
Pee Wee’s Big Adventure. Rated PG.
The Hill in Patterson Park East near Ellwood and Gough.
8:30pm. Rain date 5/18.

Once again, the Friends are bringing you movies in the park, the first. directed by Tim Burton, is a 1985 classic family fun film follows the story of a man-child who’s bicycle has been stolen and his journey to get it back.

Sunday May 17-Bike Jam. Pagoda open 8am-6pm.

Bike Jam which has been held on a the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend is moving to Sunday this year and is produced by Corrigan Sports and Lateral Stress Velo. The festivities will stay the same, so come out for the races, food, music, and so much more. For more information, visit www.bikejam.org.

Thursday May 21- Wine tasting. Near the Pagoda 7-9pm. $50.

It’s our annual fundraiser, and it’s always a fun event. Come out drink some wine, socialize with neighbors and support the Friends! Thanks to Chesapeake Wine Company for providing the libations! Call 410.276.3676 for more information.

Saturday May 23-Movie in Patterson Park.
Madagascar. Rated G.
The Hill in Patterson Park East near Ellwood and Gough.
8:30pm. Rain date 5/25.

A hilarious animated movie that’s fun for the whole family. Sit back at the hill in the extension and watch as a group of pampered zoo animals from New York try to get back home when they end up stranded in Madagascar.

Friday 29, Saturday 30, Sunday31- Polish Festival.
Pulaski Monument near the corner of Linwood and Eastern Aves.
Open Friday 5pm-10pm, Saturday 12pm-10pm, Sunday 12pm-4pm. $2 donation Friday, $4 Saturday and Sunday.

June 2009

Saturday June 13-Fishing Festival.
Boat Lake 10am-1pm.

Everyone is welcome at the fishing festival produced by Baltimore City Department of Parks and Recreation. Once again, bring your own rod, or get there early to rent one of a limited number of poles for $1.00. In addition to fishing there will also be games to play and crafts to take home with you. It’s always fun, so bring your family down for this great afternoon.

Sunday June 14-Tour Dem Parks. 7:30am-12noon.

This year, the annual bike tour will have four routes. They all begin and end in Carroll Park. As always, there will be a rest stop in Patterson Park. For more information visit www.tourdemparks.org.

Sunday June 21-PNC Concerts in Patterson Park Presents Big Daddy Stallings.
Pagoda Hill. 6:30-8:30pm. Rain Date 6/24.

The self-proclaimed “Mayor of B-Town,” this South Carolina-born trucker-turned-music man brings the real essence of the blues to Patterson Park. The Afro-American describes his sound as “Wonderful…the sound of Jimmy Reed seasoned with a little B.B. King.”

Saturday 27, Sunday 28-Latino Fest.
Pulaski Monument Near Eastern and Linwood Aves.
Saturday 12-10pm, Sunday 12-9pm.

Tuesday June 30-PNC Concerts in Patterson Park Presents Mama Tried.
Pagoda Hill 6:30-8:80pm.

Bluegrass musicians Randy Barrett and Dede Wyland have shared the stage for almost ten years. They’ve performed at the Kennedy Center and Randy has won multiple WAMMIES (Washington Area Music Association’s awards) for songwriting and performance. These talented musicians are sure to put on a good show, so don’t miss it!

Monthly Birdwalk - last Saturday of every month, 8am: Join Audubon for a birdwalk through Patterson Park! Meet at the fountain near the Pagoda. Meet your neighbors and learn something about birds! Call Audubon if you need binoculars 410-558-BIRD.
