The Dominic “Mimi” DiPietro Family Ice Skating Rink is a popular
center of activity for the neighborhood as well as the metropolitan hockey
community. The rink hosts an ice hockey clinic that teaches the fundamentals
of skating technique as well as the rules of the game. If you want to
learn how to figure skate, lessons are available. The rink is also available
for private parties and group rentals. Grab the kids, your skates, or
a bunch of buddies, come and watch some local hockey teams play, then
visit the warm-up room which is equipped with a fireplace, concession
stand, and skate shop.
The Dominic “Mimi” DiPietro Family Ice Skating Rink was originally
built in 1967 and is named after the late, longtime East Baltimore City
Councilman. In 1986 the rink was enclosed with a tension structure and
the changing/warming house was expanded.
