Concert Schedule 2013
Sunday 6/9 (rain date Wed. 6/12): The Bellevederes
The Bellevederes give their audience a show filled with music that’s funky, soulful, and a whole lot of fun! Playing mostly older funk and soul tunes, they pride themselves on getting fans up and dancing to their energetic rhythms. Don’t miss their debut on Pagoda Hill for what is sure to be an unforgettable kick-off to our summer concert series! (Joe’s Bike Shop on site for free checkovers!)
Tuesday 6/25 (rain date Wed. 6/26): The Bumper Jacksons
The Bumper Jacksons’ mix of jazz and pre-war country takes listeners on an American journey from New Orleans’ bar rooms to Appalachian hollers. Using washboards, ukuleles, kazoos, clarinets, guitars, and banjos, the Bumper Jacksons are “a big, fat party” that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
Tuesday 7/2 (rain date Wed. 7/3): Cold Spring Jazz Quartet
For over a decade Cold Spring Jazz Quartet has appeared regularly around Baltimore, winning a broad and loyal following. Deeply rooted in bebop and blues, this versatile group dazzles audiences with a variety of sounds and moods. If you like relaxing on Pagoda Hill (and we think you do), don’t miss this top-notch jazz concert. (Joe’s Bike Shop on site for free checkovers!)
Sunday 7/14 (rain date Wed. 7/17): ellen cherry
This Baltimore-based musician needs no introduction, but we will give her one anyway! A Strathmore Artist-in-Residence and co-founder of MOBTOWNmoon, ellen cherry has recorded and released original music continuously for over 15 years. Mixing equal parts of pathos and humor throughout her songs, she is mysterious and powerful on stage and her banter will give Pagoda Hill audiences a peek into her whimsical, curious mind.
Tuesday 7/23 (rain date Wed. 7/24): Big Daddy Stallings
The self-proclaimed “Mayor of B-Town”, this South Carolina-born trucker-turned-music man brings the real essence of the blues to Patterson Park. According to Big City R&B Magazine, “Some people can wear a fancy hat and talk the talk, but Charles ‘Big Daddy’ Stallings has the blues to back it up.” (Joe’s Bike Shop on site for free checkovers!)
Tuesday 8/6 (rain date Wed. 8/7): Son Tres y Más
Son Tres y Más has been performing popular and traditional music of Mexico and Latin America around the Baltimore area over the past several years (including at Patterson Park’s very own LatinoFest). Show off your dance moves as this band turns Pagoda Hill into the Latin dance party that it has always yearned to be!
Sunday 8/18 (rain date Wed. 8/21): All Mighty Senators
What better way to send off our summer concert series than with the All Mighty Senators? “By linking bits of funk, metal, R&B, blues boogie, acoustic instrumentation, & even Frank Zappaisms, All Mighty Senators toss out a sassy, temperamental musical whole that is nothing short of beguiling” (Billboard Magazine). Come out for the last concert of the season as Patterson Park welcomes back this amazing Baltimore band! (Joe’s Bike Shop on site for free checkovers!)
