AUDUBON’S MONTHLY BIRD WATCHING WALK. Saturday, January 28th, 8-9:30 am. All ages welcome! Free! Meet at the fountain in Patterson Park, closest to E. Lombard St. and S. Patterson Park Avenue. Bring the family to Patterson Park to learn about birds that live in Maryland all winter long, in particular, winter ducks! Audubon’s conservation director will be on hand to answer questions about our feathered friends. If you would like to borrow binoculars, drop us an email – we have plenty to share! There is no need to RSVP for this event, just arrive ready to explore!
AUDUBON’S TINY TOTS: ANIMALS IN WINTER. Saturday, January 28th, 10-11 am Meet at the Pagoda Ages: 2-5. $5 suggested donation per child, with an adult. Tiny Tots is an early childhood environmental education program where kids make a craft, play a game, and read a story. This month, we will find out together how animals survive the cooler winter months. Do all of the Park’s animals keep active in the winter? AUDUBON’S TRICKY TREES SAFARI IN PATTERSON PARK. Saturday, February 4th, 12:30-2:30 pm. Meet at the Pagoda. Free! Fun for the whole family! Closest to E. Pratt St. and S. Patterson Park Avenue. Learning to identify trees is fun, but once the leaves are gone for the season, it’s tricky! Join us for an informal family safari to identify trees and their importance to birds in the park. AT THE CREATIVE ALLIANCE – BILLY B, NATURE IN THE CITY Saturday, February 4th, 3pm. FREE! Billed as “The Natural Science Song and Dance Man,” Billy B entertains family audiences with hilarious (but scientifically correct) rock tunes and physical comedy that opens their eyes to the natural world around them. Nature in the City introduces city kids to the plants and critters right in their backyard. Billy B performs over 300 shows a year around the country, and partners with National Geographic, the Smithsonian and the World Wildlife Fund. Geared for ages 5-12, fun for all!
