Campaign for the friends of patterson Park
We are excited to announce our first capital campaign to restore the 1868 Superintendent’s house in the northwest corner of Patterson Park, creating a welcoming Visitor’s Center and a new community programming venue, and transforming the Friends’ headquarters into a functioning multi‐use space.
Since the creation of the Friends of Patterson Park in 1998, our vision has always been a big one...preserving the history and beauty of Patterson Park and working to meet community needs and encourage use by all communities in order to create a thriving
As we look to the future, we find that our base of operations within the park is in need of major restoration in order to continue to serve our needs and those of park users, and that there is a pressing need for indoor programming space.
We are excited to renew our commitment‐ deepening our roots within the park by improving our current home so that we can expand upon our original mission, creating programs that foster connections and cultivate our park community.
The initial phase of the project - planning & initial architect's renderings - was supported in 2017 by a $10,000 grant from the Baltimore National Heritage Area and the Abell Foundation. We worked with the local firm PI.KL Studio to assess our needs and produce the first drawings of both the renovated and new spaces. We have raised nearly half of the necessary funds through the generosity and foresight of granting organizations and the hard work of our legislative team in Annapolis.
We look forward to sharing the next phase of our fundraising efforts with the public phase of our campaign, to be announced in May 2019. STAY TUNED…
