One of Patterson Park’s greatest assets is the array of programming put on throughout the year, which attracts a diverse group of friends, neighbors, and members of the entire Baltimore community. “I love the summer concert series. The selection of musical acts are unique from concert to concert, the artists are extremely talented, and the audience of all ages always has a great time!” Besides looking forward to the summer concert series every year, Roxie Alsruhe uses the park on a regular basis, whether participating in social sports or going for a casual stroll.

After moving to Baltimore in 2014, Roxie learned about the Friends through a newsletter. Soon after, she chose to invest in the park, becoming an Evergreen Friend through a monthly contribution. “Patterson Park is my back yard. The Friends - and the park - need the involvement and investment of more neighbors to continue to make the park better.”

“I absolutely love Patterson Park! I love all of the events offered in the park - the concert series, Lantern Parade , Kite Festival and Winter Lights at the Observatory.

I love the free spaces available to play tennis, swim and even ice skate! I can really go on and on about all of the things I love about this park but the most important thing I love about Patterson Park are the people and the awesome community they create. I happily donate to the Friends of Patterson Park to help support everything they do to create an amazing space to visit.”

Genie H., Volunteer Coach

“I love seeing our community gather in Patterson Park to play sports and spend time with friends and family. Coaching soccer in the park is the highlight of my week! Every week, kids learn to cheer for their teammates and have fun playing the sport . All the soccer coaches and Friends of Patterson Park staff work hard to cultivate a welcoming, fun environment for families. We are so lucky to have Patterson Park as our communal backyard!”
