The Friends of Patterson Park (FPP) is committed to the privacy of our online and offline supporters, including members, online users, donors, event attendees and visitors. FPP operates in accordance with the following privacy policy. By providing FPP with your information online or offline, you consent to the terms of this privacy policy.

Data Collection

When You Make a Donation or Purchase Merchandise or Event Tickets, on or offline:
When making a donation and/or purchasing merchandise or tickets, you will be asked to provide personally identifiable information necessary to process your request. This may include your name, billing and shipping postal addresses, telephone number, e-mail address, and credit card number. When making a donation and or purchasing merchandise or tickets online, your credit card information will be temporarily stored on a secured server only for as long as necessary to process your payment. When making a donation and or purchasing merchandise or tickets over the phone or via printed materials, your credit card information will be maintained only long enough to process and verify payment, then destroyed. Your name, email, address, phone and donation information will be retained and securely maintained.

When You Send FPP an E-mail
FPP is pleased to receive e-mails from you. Should you choose to send an e-mail to us, your message and e-mail address will be forwarded to the appropriate staff member within FPP, and we may save your e-mail as part of our permanent records. Please be aware that any message, material, ideas, concepts, or other information sent to FPP by e-mail will be treated as non-confidential and non-proprietary.

When You Sign up for our E-mail Newsletter or SMS Text Service:
FPP uses an “opt-in” policy for our e-newsletters and text services. Anyone becoming a member of FPP consents to future e-mail membership renewal requests, e-newsletters and mailed or e-mailed invitations. You may opt-out of receiving e-mails, text messages or postal mail at any time.

When you sign up to volunteer:
When signing up to volunteer, you may be asked to provide personally identifiable information necessary for FPP to contact you and assign you to appropriate volunteer activities. This may include your name, home address, telephone number, e-mail address, t-shirt size, and birthdate or year. In some cases, you will be asked to complete a background check if volunteering as a coach or instructor. This information is not shared outside of FPP staff members, and is necessary to run our programming appropriately. You may at any time ask for your identifiable volunteer data (name, phone, address, email) to be purged by contacting us at volunteer@pattersonpark.com.

Use of Your Personal Data

Internal Use:
FPP may use your information to inform you of events, send you e-mailed newsletters, request monetary contributions and send you promotions and updates about the park. Out of respect for your privacy, e-mail recipients may opt out of receiving e-mails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in the e-mail message, e-mailing membership@pattersonpark.com, or calling 410-276-3676.

FPP’s website automatically collects usage data of all visitors, which may include information such as your device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type and version, the pages of our website that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data. When you access the website with a mobile device, we may collect certain information automatically, including the type of mobile device, your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser you use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data. The information collected is used for statistical purposes to monitor how FPP’s online visitors navigate our website, allowing us to tailor our website to better accommodate our visitors.

External Use:

Third Party Vendors
FPP may engage third-party vendors in order to help us better service our visitors and customers. FPP requires its vendors by contract to maintain the confidentiality and security of FPP information to which they are provided access and restricts the vendors from using the information in any way not expressly authorized by FPP. In cases when users leave FPP’s website to visit one of its vendor’s websites, users are encouraged to become familiar with the privacy statement of each website they visit.

Sharing lists of FPP Members and Donors
FPP does not sell or exchange donor, member or participant personal data.

Links to Other Websites
Our website may at times contain links to other websites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.

Your Options
We recognize that you may wish to limit the ways in which we contact you and use your information. FPP offers the following options:

  • Opt out of receiving e-mails from FPP: You may click “Unsubscribe” in any of our e-mails, e-mail us at friends@pattersonpark.com to request that we remove your e-mail address from our database, or call us at 410-276-3676 to make your request.

  • Opt out of receiving text messages from FPP: Send “STOP” in reply to our text message, or contact us at friends@pattersonpark.com or call us at 410-276-3676.

  • Opt out of receiving postal mail from FPP: E-mail us at friends@pattersonpark.com to make your request, or call us at 410-276-3676. You may also mail us at Friends of Patterson Park, 27 S Patterson Park Ave, Baltimore, MD 21231.

Data Security
FPP does not process any underlying payments facilitated by its website; payments are processed by our partner service providers, including Stripe and PayPal. Financial data you input to consummate a transaction is encrypted using SSL technology and sent to one of our payment partners. For recurring donations your financial and contact data is stored by a payment partner in accordance with industry standards. Only the payment partner has access to your credit card number; we do not have access to your credit card number. Data handled by a payment partner is subject to that payments partner’s terms and privacy policy.

When making a donation and or purchasing a membership online, your credit card information will be temporarily stored on a secured server only for as long as necessary to process your payment. When making a donation and or purchasing a membership over the phone or via printed materials, your credit card information will be maintained in a secure location in FPP’s office long enough to process and verify payment, then it is destroyed.

The security of your personal data is extremely important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Cookies
The FPP website uses cookies (small files that store information on your computer’s web browser) to enhance user experience on the website. Cookies are used to perform certain functions such as saving passwords, personal interests and preferences; delivering content specific to these interests and preferences; and analyzing website activity and user behavior on the website. You may set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie and delete any cookies you receive.

Children’s Privacy
FPP does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided FPP with personal data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from anyone under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page; please review this page periodically for any changes.
