Be a part of Winter Lights!
Snowflake Project
We need 300 handmade black paper snowflake cut outs to help decorate the Observatory for the winter season and our Winter Lights at the Observatory event. Can you help?
What to Do:
We need all size snowflakes, big and small. Minimum size is 6 inches, Maximum size 16 inches.
You can pick up paper from us, or use your own BLACK CONSTRUCTION OR ART PAPER to create paper snowflakes. These MUST be on black paper to create silhouettes on the Observatory windows…they will be backlit.
They can be elaborate or simple! We have included links to some popular instructions below. The only guideline is no smaller than 6” and no bigger than 15”.
If you have the means, please carefully iron snowflakes on low heat (no steam), under a plain piece of paper before you return them to us. This will save us a step and get them nice and flat before we put them on the windows!
