2024 Wine at Sunset Wrap Up

2024 Wine at Sunset Wrap Up

Our 18th Annual Patterson Park Wine at Sunset is a wrap!

We’re so grateful to everyone who came out to support the Friends of Patterson Park on May 23rd for Wine at Sunset! The weather held out as 650 attendees sampled some amazing wines and small plates from our many partners, enjoyed music by favorites Rob Fahey and David Bell, and in general had a great time hanging out in the park!

Very special thanks to our generous hosts Danny and Michele Barnycz, our Bubbly Sponsor Wideroots LLC and our Demo Tent Sponsor the Exchange Club of Highlandtown-Canton. Thanks to our partners who are great friends of the park…Off the Rox, Old Line Spirits and Ministry of Brewing, DiPasquale’s, Pierpoint, Water for Chocolate, El Taquito Mexicano, TacoBar, Balti’marons, Abbey Burger, Sophia’s Place, Cre8tive Mindz Cafe, Hopscotch Bottle Shop, Cane Collective, Kind Vine, Noir Sunshine Winery and Elijah Craig. And finally, we’re so grateful to the many volunteers who helped clean the event site, set up, take tickets, pour wine and more.

Earth Day in Patterson Park!

Earth Day in Patterson Park!

A big thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate Earth Day with us here in Patterson Park! At our Saturday event, we planted 28 beautiful trees in the annex, cleaned the Castle Playground, picked up trash from the boat lake, and did a park-wide trash cleanup with the help of our partner, Chispa Maryland!

We also had 4 corporate groups come out during the week before and after Earth Day to do additional trash pick up, weed trees, and clean the Observatory. Thank you to the volunteers from CPower Energy, GWWO Architects, Arch Insurance, and MECU Credit Union, for using your time to care for Patterson Park!

Additionally, we dedicated our first ever “Earth Day Community Tree” inside the park at the Lombard St/S Patterson Park Ave entrance. This tulip poplar was planted and dedicated in celebration of some special individuals in the community. More info on this program is here.

Groundbreaking Ceremony for Phase 2!

Groundbreaking Ceremony for Phase 2!

Thank you for joining us in celebrating “officially” breaking ground on Phase 2 of our capital project - our new community-programming space, volunteer support center and courtyard - on Wednesday, November 8th. We were pleased to welcome members, friends and neighbors, architects, builders and representatives to highlight Friends of Patterson Park’s journey to this historic moment. This new building marks the Friends’ next step in Patterson Park as we expand our role and footprint in the community. Thanks for a great Soiree in the Park!

Thanks for a great Soiree in the Park!

Our 25th Anniversary party - Soiree in the Park - was held September 9th! The weather that weekend was tricky, and despite a rainy start, the evening cleared at 7:30 just in time for cake and dancing. We heard from our Executive Director Jennifer Robinson about the 2nd Phase of our capital campaign - Deepening Roots, Cultivating Community - to raise the final $300,000 towards the construction of a new community programming space, and heard remarks from BCRP Director Reginald Moore, park volunteer and member Jenn Aiosa, and our Board president Katherine Klosek. Senator Bill Ferguson and Delegate Robbyn Lewis represented our Legislative Team 46, and Senator Ferguson presented a congratulatory Resolution from the Senate commemorating 25 years of the Friends of Patterson Park!

We’re so grateful to our friends and neighbors who braved the rain and came out to celebrate, and we hope to hold a version of this event in future years! Thanks to our amazing dinner band Ultra Faux, our DJ from Baltimore Sound who got us up and dancing!

Thanks to our fabulous team of volunteers who did everything from set up to registration! And special thanks to our sponsors: Keilty Bonadio Attorneys at Law, Cap Ex Advisory Group, PI.KL, Northpoint Builders, The Exchange Club of Highlandtown-Canton, Spa Adagio, and Shara Boonshaft - we’re so grateful for your support! Our partners are the BEST, too…thanks to our partners at Baltimore City Recreation & Parks, Off the Rox and Old Line Spirits, and to our friends and media partners WYPR and WTMD!
