Spring into action volunteer day!

Saturday, April 18, 2026, 9:30am to 12pm
at the Patterson Park Observatory!

Join the Friends of Patterson Park for this Volunteer Extravaganza to celebrate Earth Day! This will be our first stewardship event of 2026 and what better way to start than with showing the park some love?

Get outside and meet your neighbors, get some exercise, and most of all --- help care for our favorite Park. We will care for young trees, pick up trash, clearing walkways, garden and so much more! We'll bring the tools, we just need you!

Schedule:

Check in starts at 9am and then we will be starting up all of our Spring into Action activities right at 9:30am. That includes a quick tree planting demo and path clearing instructions starting at 9:30am SHARP! You’re welcome to join the event at anytime, but we do have a limited number of trees to plant, so keep that in mind.

We’ll also have trash clean up supplies, brooms, rakes, and a variety of other tools for projects that don’t need instructions.

New This Year: 1st Earth Day 5K

Join us before the stewardship activities start at the Earth Day 5k! Every step you take (and dollar raised!) supports Friends of Patterson Park’s stewardship programs that keep this historic green space thriving. Our goal is $25,000 this year to support our care of the park…let’s race to get there!
